🔥 NEWS FLASH – BREAKING NEWS 🔥
VAN’S ROYAL TOUR OF AUSTRALIA

Australia being the second largest RV market outside the USA, we thought it appropriate to invite an aviation legend to headline our next convention as the Association marks our first ‘circumnavigation’ of Australia. We started the RVAA in 2022 and have now taken our annual gatherings throughout the country. 2027 marks the return to our birthplace, Echuca.
To mark this event the Association has extended an invitation to Van’s Aircraft to attend our next AGM/Convention at Echuca.
Van’s have replied and they are as excited as we are. They are not going to send a single representative, they are sending TWO! the legend himself, Richard (Dick) VanGrunsven and the Chief Engineer Rian Johnson will be attending. Naturally we are delighted to learn of their acceptance. Dick and Rian will address the RV convention on all things RV, past, present and the future.
Naturally we expect the turn up at Echuca to be bolstered by Van’s attendance. This will necessitate some rethinking in our planning. The Committee is seeking your assistance to make Echuca our best meeting yet.

Firstly, how can you help? Registrations are open, so if you are planning on attending, please register as soon as possible. Having some firm numbers to work with will help us sort out the venue seating, bus transportation, and the catering requirements. Without knowing the number of attendees, the Committee is working within a vacuum.
Registration Link is at the bottom of the page.

We are also looking for volunteers who have spare seats in their aircraft who would be interested in helping us transport the Van’s team to Echuca and back. We will know shortly where Dick & Rian will be entering and departing Australia from. We would like to give the Van’s team a quick look see of some of Australia’s interesting spots while they are here. Please let us know if you could assist with your aircraft.

Accommodation:

We have reached out to various accommodation businesses.  Due to the fact that Echuca is such a popular tourist locale for Melbourne, competition for accommodation is tight for weekends.

Our only recommendation is that you explore accommodation in or close to the CBD of Echuca, there are many motels in and around High Street.

Should you find accommodation at a location some distance away, beware that the free bus transportation RVAA is providing, may not be able available.

You may have to rely on local bus or taxi.

We recommend that you book now to avoid any disappointments.  Remember nearly all accommodation businesses have a very reasonable cancellation policy.  No deposits will be lost if you cancel even up to 24 hours before.  Costs nothing to book and cancel later if circumstances change.

COMMENT: Event to be held over 3 – 4 days commencing 15 -16th April with the AGM on Saturday the 17th then departing on the 18th April.

ECHUCA UPDATE

Richard VanGrunsven Founder of Van’s Aircraft & Rain Johnson Chief Engineer Van’s Aircraft are coming to Echuca.

What’s the date?  Saturday 17th April 2027.

When should you arrive?  Echuca is a historic Inland port and a major tourist attraction in Victoria, come early or stay late and soak up the ambience.  Those travelling longer distances tend to plan an early arrival allowing for potential lost VMC days enroute.  Normally the early arrivals come in on Wednesday/Thursday.  RVAA will organise transportation commencing Wednesday afternoon.  This vehicle will be available for members use from that time onwards.

Friday Lunch
We propose: to take a Paddle Steamer ride to a local winery where lunch will be partaken and a return trip back to the old Echuca port.

Murray River Paddle Steamers normally don’t allow bookings that far ahead, but they have opened up the online bookings specifically for Friday April 16, 2027 for RVAA but this also means that if any other member of the public scrolls that far ahead, they can book which will reduce the number of spaces for RVAA members. So be quick.

They have a 48-hour cancellation policy, no risk if something happens. Book now and join the team.

Friday evening, we will hold the traditional “Meet & Greet” at “1895 The Royal Hotel” upstairs lounge.  The same location we used the first time.
